Chai Hoe (Founder, Director & Principal Lawyer)

Ms Chai Hoe is the Founder, Director and Principal Lawyer of Harmony Legal & Associates (HLA). She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2014.
Chai holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The Australian National University (ANU). She has worked in several well-established community and mid-sized law firms and brings over a decade of experience practising primarily in Family Law and Succession Law.
Chai reads, writes, and communicates fluently in English, Mandarin, Malay, and various Chinese dialects, including Cantonese and Hokkien. She regularly assists clients both in Australia and overseas and ensures clients are kept informed through clear and timely communication.
Chai is known for her empathy, professionalism, and strong sense of integrity. She is committed to maintaining strict confidentiality and providing clear, pragmatic legal advice that enables clients to make informed decisions.
Her focus is on achieving the best possible and most cost-effective outcomes while minimising emotional and financial stress. Where appropriate, Chai prioritises alternative dispute resolution methods such as negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and conciliation before court proceedings are commenced.
Chai is deeply committed to community service and pro bono work. She has been a volunteer solicitor with Women’s Legal Service Queensland since 2018.
Chai’s contribution to the community has been widely recognised. She has received the Moreton Bay Jim Chalmers MP and Graham Perrett MP Volunteer Awards and is a recipient of the Lions Club International Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest honour awarded by Lions Clubs worldwide for outstanding humanitarian service.
